Knife sharpening and knife skills classes
Everything you need to know
Class size is limited to five attendees in order to maximize one-on-one time. Each class is customized to your individual needs and skill level. Each class covers topics including selection and maintenance of stones and knives, knife steels, edge geometry, hand pressure and position, and proper bevel angles for both Japanese and Western kitchen knives. This class will cover proper knife handling, knife safety, choosing the appropriate knife and the importance of a sharp edge on delicate veg. Use one of our store knives or bring your own if you choose.
- Please bring A chef’s knife / gyuto is required for the class.
- We provide Whetstones or you may bring your own.
- Daily fresh produce will be provided. Please bring a container / tupperware to take home your expertly cut veg! Rotating menus due to seasonal ingredients. Please inform us of any allergies prior to any class, thanks.
Skillit will last:
2 hours hours
Once your Skillit is confirmed, changes may be made at the discretion of the provider and must be arranged directly with them.
